The two persons arrested over Tuesday's bomb blast at Agargaon in the city have said that the bomb was activated by the manufacturer through a phone call, said detectives. The detectives added they were investigating whether the arrestees and their cohorts have involvement in militancy and they had more such bombs in their possession. After checking the call list of the SIM card, which was recovered after the blast, Detective Branch of Police (DB) also found that the bomb exploded with an incoming call on the phone kept in the handbag of the woman. Requesting anonymity, a high official of the DB police told The Daily Star, “We found that the bomb was not exploded by arrestees Zubayer Ahmed or Nurul. They told us that it was done by the producer. But we are sure that it was activated by a mobile call.” Police, however, did not disclose the caller's number. Ayesha Siddique, assistant programme officer of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), was injured in the bomb explosion. After the incident, police arrested her colleague Zubayer and one Nurul Islam. Zubayer, a programme officer at the BCC, reportedly confessed to planting the explosive, saying it was a mobile phone he had bought from Nurul, in Ayesha's bag.
