Man lynched in Pabna
A mob beat up an auto-rickshaw puller to death over an illicit relation with a woman at Natun Rooppur village in Ishwardi upazila in Pabna on Thursday.
The deceased was Aftab Hossain, 45, of the village in the upazila.
Md Akbar Hossain, officer-in-charge at Ishwardi Police Station, said the incident took place at a house around 11:00pm.
Critically injured Aftab was rushed to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead, he said adding that the body was sent to Pabna Medical College Hospital morgue.
"In primary investigation, we came to know that locals beat Aftab up at a house alleging that he had an illicit relationship with a woman of the village, but we are investigating into the incident," the OC said.
A case was filed with the police station.
