Domestic help 'kills himself'
A boy domestic help allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in Uttara area in the capital yesterday.
The deceased was Khairul, 11, son of Dulal Uddin of Gouripur in Mymensingh.
Quoting the deceased's employer, Habibur Rahman, sub-inspector of Uttara Police Station, said Khairul had been working in Rafiqul Islam's house at road number 21 in sector number 4 of Uttara.
"They [the family members] said Khairul entered in bathroom yesterday, but did not come out for hours," he said.
"Later, they broke open the door and found that he was hanging from a pipe of a shower with a towel," he said adding that "Khairul was rushed to Uttara Adhunik Hospital where doctors declared him dead."
Police sent the body to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
The victim's family members suspect that Khairul was killed by his employers, police said.
