Traffic gas damages heart rhythm
The level of carbon monoxide, a poisonous traffic gas common in heavy traffic can be fatal, by disrupting the heart's rhythm, has been unravelled in a study published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. It is deadly at high levels as it replaces oxygen out of the blood, meaning less is transported around the body.
