Arrestee escapes from police custody in Ctg
An arrestee, who was accused in a mugging case, managed to flee from police custody on Tuesday night in Chittagong.
Mohammad Rubel, 19, resident of Shulakbahar area, was arrested on Tuesday by officers of Panchlaish Police Station, said police sources.
“Police noticed him missing yesterday and found the ventilator of one of the police toilets broken,” Miraz Uddin Ahmed, deputy commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, told The Daily Star.
He might have fled sometime between 8:00pm to 10:00pm, he added.
Miraz said he ordered Manjur Morshed, who is the to assistant commissioner of the zone, to investigate the incident and submit a report soon.
