Majid Butt to be quizzed after Eid
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) will interrogate Kashmiri militant Majid Butt on a three-day remand after Eid-ul-Fitr in two cases for a grenade blast in Sylhet on August 7 in 2004.
Raonakul Haque Chowdhury, senior ASP of CID and investigation officer of the cases, said they had prayed for a seven-day remand.
On Tuesday, the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Sylhet Abu Syed Dilzar Hossain granted the remand in the grenade attack and explosive cases, said Additional Public Prosecutor of Sylhet Md Shamsul Islam.
Majid Butt, a leader of Kashmir-based militant organisation Lashkar-e-Taieba (LeT), was shown arrested in the cases for grenade blast at Gulshan centre in Sylhet city.
Weeks ago, his name came up in the statement of outlawed JMB chief Mufti Hannan, who had been jail in August 21, 2004 grenade attack case. Earlier on January 6, 2009, Majid was also arrested in the August 21grenade attack case.
