ACC Case Against Oli

Charge framing hearing deferred to Sep 6

Court Correspondent
A Dhaka court yesterday deferred to September 6 the hearing on charge framing against Liberal Democratic Party President Col (retd) Oli Ahmed in a case filed against him for non-submission of his wealth statement to the ACC. Judge Mohammad Mozammel Haque of the Special Judge Court-2 of Dhaka passed the order after Oli's lawyer submitted a petition stating that his client could not appear before it due to illness. Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) pressed charges against Oli on March 19 after ACC Deputy Director Golam Mostafa filed the case on November 28, 2011. In the case statement, Mostafa said they served a notice in 1998 asking Oli to submit his wealth statement. The High Court stayed the notice's operation till 2007 and later vacated the order.
