PM's remarks unacceptable

Nur Jahan, Chittagong
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina severely condemned a section of BUET teachers and students for pouring blood of their bodies on the staircases of the administrative building demanding the removal of VC and Pro-VC. She called it a 'perverted protest.' Instead of becoming sympathetic, she became cynical! But we, common people do not share her views. As an alternative to violent demonstrations those students were expressing their despair, anguish and helplessness by 'voluntary bloodshed', hoping that it will make the government come to its senses and remove the VC and Pro-VC against whom 16 corruption charges have been brought. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina surprises us by her declarations quite often. Recently she said that lest the consumers should forget it altogether, she gave instructions so that consumers may experience load shedding twice daily. For God's sake, why should we have to remember load shedding? Is it some pleasurable experience? We have had enough of it; we do not want to go through it again. As Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina does not have to pass a single minute without electricity, she will never understand the ordeal of those who have to live hour after hour without power. So please spare us from remembering load shedding.
