Tyranny in treatment's name

S.A. Mansoor, Dhaka
Your front page report of 18th. September, along with the photograph of the victim, recounts the horrifying and criminal negligence of Golam Mostafa, the owner of 'Anwara Diagnostic Center.' In the interest of public safety, government should carry out an immediate inquiry into this cruel and inhuman behaviour of the diagnostic centre's owner. If the reported incident could be verified, then criminal proceedings might be taken against the owner, and the victim be immediately compensated. Further, the centre's license should be permanently cancelled in the interest of public safety. Such criminal behaviour and acts, as reported, can not be allowed in a civilised society. They deserve exemplary punishment. Victimising patients in the name of treatment must be stopped! A prompt and well publicised action needs to be taken immediately so that such crimes are eradicated.
