First mobile veterinary clinic launched
Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) yesterday launched the country's very first mobile veterinary healthcare services.
Medical wing of the university, SA Kadery Teaching Veterinary Hospital, will operate the mobile clinic officially named as Ambulatory Veterinary Clinics.
The World Bank has financed the clinic, which is a part of University Grant Commission's (UGC) higher education development programme.
Prof Dr Md Mohibur Rahman, member of UGC, said farmers of Chittagong will benefit from the clinic as it will provide their livestock with modern healthcare in a very short time.
Prof Dr AS Mahfujul Bari, vice-chancellor of CVASU, among others, was present at the programme.
The mobile clinic, which will be open 24 hours a day and seven days a week, will operate all over Chittagong city and its adjacent upazilas.
