CU BCL men assault journalist
A journalist of Bangla daily Jugantor was assaulted by pro-Awami League Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists of Chittagong University (CU) unit on the campus on Thursday.
Victim Abu Bakar Rahat, CU correspondent of Jugantor, said he had an altercation with Minhaz Uddin, a student of Mathematics Department, over taking possession of seat in shuttle train on the campus railway station around 2:30pm.
“All of a sudden, a group of BCL activists led by Minhaz started beating me,” he said.
CU BCL President Mamunul Hoque said the incident occurred following a misunderstanding and they tried to settle the matter.
