CUFL stops urea production again
Chittagong Urea Fertiliser Limited (CUFL) yesterday stopped its urea production for the second time after resuming on September 20 following a 5-month gap.
Md Bazlur Rahman Khan, managing director of CUFL, said they had to stop production due to gas shortage.
He said Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited notified him that four wells had been shut down in Bibiana gas field and so they were not getting enough gas from the national grid.
He said the gas distribution company authorities could not inform when the supply will resume.
