Stolen rubber worth over Tk 20 lakh recovered
Border Guard Bangladesh recovered 10,682kg of stolen rubber worth over Tk 20 lakh in two separate drives on Wednesday and yesterday.
Acting on a tip off, BGB yesterday seized 3,500kg of raw rubber from Shamshernagar in Moulvibazar district. The recovered rubber was deposited at Shamshernagar Custom Office.
In the other drive on Wednesday, 7,182kg of rubber was recovered from a house in kulaura upazila.
Maj Touhid Bin Ishaque, operation officer of 14 battalion, said the rubber was being processed illegally and smuggled to India.
