Four Shibir men held for threatening AL lawmaker
Four activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir were arrested and sent to jail yesterday for giving threat to Awami League (AL) lawmaker Md Abu Zahir, also general secretary of Sylhet district unit AL, over the phone.
The arrestees were Al-Amin, Saddam Hossain and Motalib Miah of village Murakori at Lakhai upazila in Habiganj and Ruhel Ahmed of Habiganj town.
The lawmaker's driver Mohammad Miah filed a General Diary with Habiganj Police Station on October 7 in connection with the threat incident, said police.
Conducting drives on Thursday night and yesterday, police caught the arrestees.
The judicial magistrate court sent the four to jail yesterday, said police.
