Country's first butterfly park opens in Ctg
Environment and Forests Minister Hasan Mahmud yesterday urged all to come forward to save the nature.
He was speaking as the chief guest at an inaugural ceremony of the country's first Butterfly Park at Patenga in Chittagong.
Butterflies are bio-indicators and play an important role in pollination of flowers, and thus help breeding of trees, he said.
With Monwara Hakim Ali, vice-chairman of Intraco Group, in the chair, former minister of Maldives Abdullah Shahid and local lawmaker MA Latif and Prof Shafiq Haider Chowdhury, among others, were present in the ceremony at the park premises.
