Amu, Tofail, Jalil restored to AL nat'l committee
Awami League President Sheikh Hasina last night nominated stalwarts Amir Hossain Amu, Tofail Ahmed and Abdul Jalil as members of Awami League National Committee (ALNC) ahead of the committee's meeting today.
The three were dropped from the party central committee in the 2009 national council.
Hasina, also the prime minister, handed over the nomination letters to Amu and Tofail when they went to her official residence Gono Bhaban last night to attend the AL Parliamentary Board meeting. Jalil's letter has been sent to his Gulshan residence, said AL insiders.
The ALNC will meet at 11:00am at Gono Bhaban to discuss the country's latest socio-political and organisational matters.
