Huge amount of VoIP instruments seized

VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) instruments worth about Tk 1.15 crore were recovered in different drives by Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in Chittagong yesterday. Tipped-off, a Rab-7 team conducted drives at a shop of Sheikh Market in Hathazari upazila of Chittagong and at a house about 5 kilometres off the market area around 7:30am, said Rab-7 Deputy Director Md Nuruzzaman. They seized VoIP instruments worth more than Tk 1 crore from the house and the shop, both owned by one Jahangir Hossain, said Lieutenant Commander Nuruzzaman, who led the drives. Meanwhile, Rab-7 personnels conducted another drive at a shop of Nupur Shopping Complex in the port city's New Market area around 1:30pm yesterday, he said. They seized VoIP instruments worth about Tk 15 lakh from the shop owned by one Nurul Afsar, he added.
