Oman to open diplomatic mission in Dhaka

Oman has decided to open its full-fledged diplomatic mission in Dhaka and upgrade its representative to Bangladesh to the level of ambassador. This was officially conveyed when Representative of the State of Oman to Bangladesh Omar Mohamed Ramadhan Al Bulushi called on Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Dipu Moni at her office yesterday. The envoy handed over a letter, addressed by the foreign minister of Oman, conveying Oman's decision to Dipu Moni during the meet, said a press release of foreign ministry. Welcoming the decision, Dipu Moni expected the two countries' bilateral relation to strengthen and diversify through this. She hoped that Oman would soon send its ambassador to Bangladesh. She also assured the Omani charge d' affairs of the government's support in discharging his duties in Bangladesh. Recalling her visit to the State of Oman in April, Dipu Moni stressed the need for concerted efforts to utilise opportunities awaiting the two countries in the fields of trade, investment, agriculture, human resources development, among others. Through the envoy, she also reiterated her invitation to her Omani counterpart to visit Bangladesh. In reply, the envoy thanked the Bangladesh foreign minister for her active interest and valuable contribution to take the already existing relations between the two countries to new heights.
