Boy found dead in capital
A man recovered the body of his 10-year-old son from an abandoned house in the capital's Nandipara Balur Math yesterday.
The deceased was Mohammad Sumon, son of Ali Akbar living at Nandipara Chhoto Battala.
Akbar, a community police of Madhubagh in Ramna, said locals informed him around 4:00pm that Sumon was found hanged from the abandoned house's ceiling.
He immediately recovered the body and rushed it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Sumon dead.
Sumon was working at a dried food shop at Nandipara Balur Math for over an year. He sometimes complained that his employer used to beat him, said Akbar.
Akbar suspects that his son was killed and the body was later hanged to disguise Sumon's death as a case of suicide.
Contacted, Officer-in-Charge of Khilgaon Police Station Sirajul Islam said they had not heard about the incident yet.
