Six killed, four injured in road accidents
Six people were killed and four others injured in road accidents in Netrakona, Gaibandha, Thakurgaon and Bogra on Tuesday and yesterday.
Our Netrakona correspondent reports, two people including a schoolboy were killed in road accidents in Purbadhola and Durgapur upazilas of Netrakona on Tuesday and yesterday.
Police said Jalil Mia, 12, a class V student at Ishobpur Govt Primary School, was killed on the spot as a truck hit him from behind on Netrakona-Mymensingh road at Ishobpur under Purbadhola upazila around 11:00pm on Tuesday.
In another road accident, Abdul Hakim, 50, was killed on the spot as a truck hit him on Netrakona-Durgapur highway at Jangail bazar under Durgapur upazila around 10:00am yesterday.
Our Gaibandha correspondent reports, a man was killed and three others were injured in a road accident on Gaibandha–Sadullapur highway at Battola yesterday.
Police said Anisur Rahman Mandol, 38, was killed on the spot as a truck hit him from behind. Before fleeing the spot, the truck also hit three other pedestrians injuring them critically.
Our Thakurgaon correspondent reports, a helper of a power trolley died after falling from the running vehicle on Baliadangi-Lahiri road in front of Shaheed Akbar Ali College under Baliadangi upazila in Thakurgaon on Tuesday afternoon.
The victim Khorshed Alam, 27, was rushed to Baliadangi Upazila Health Complex. Later, he was shifted to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital. But he died on the way to the hospital.
Our Bogra correspondent reports, two motorcyclists were killed and another was injured in a road accident in Digalkandi area under Shibgonj upazila yesterday.
Police said Faruk, 24, and Rony, 24, were killed on the spot and Rony, 22, was critically injured as a bus hit the motorcycle of the victims when they were traveling to Bogra town from Gobindagonj.
