Road accidents kill 9, injure 30
Nine people were killed and at least 30 others injured in separate road accidents in Rangpur, Pabna, Munshiganj, Pirojpur and Jessore on Wednesday and yesterday.
Our Rangpur correspondent reports three unidentified people were killed and 20 others injured when a bus plunged into a ditch beside Dhaka-Rangpur highway in Boiragiganj area of Mithapukur upazila around 9:30pm on Wednesday.
The injured were admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital and Mithapukur Upazila Health Complex.
In Pabna, motorcyclist Md Shantu, 45, son of Abdul Mozir of Dublia in Pabna sadar upazila, was killed and another was injured as a microbus hit his motorbike on Pabna-Sujanagar road in Kachipara area yesterday noon.
UNB from Munshiganj reports a microbus crashed into a stationary truck on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Alipura in Gazaria upazila yesterday morning, killing two unidentified people instantly and injuring four others.
Meanwhile, a bus hit a human hauler from behind at Bejgaon in Sreenagar upazila around 7:00am yesterday, killing Shahidul Islam, 50, of Barisal, instantly and injuring three others.
In Pirojpur, Saidul Islam, 17, son of Mashiul Islam of Khumuria in the town, died as a human hauler hit his motorcycle on sadar road in the town on Wednesday night.
BSS from Jessore reports pickup driver Shipon, 38, of Khulna, was killed and two others were injured as a truck hit the pickup on Jessore-Khulna highway in Alipur area of Abhaynagar upazila on Wednesday.
