Tragic deaths of two siblings
Two siblings met their tragic end in Chowgachha upazila of the district on Thursday and Friday.
The deceased were identified as Khalilur Rahman, 34, a class IV employee of Jessore Medical College Hospital, and Abdul Gaffar, 29, -- both sons of Nur Hossain, commander of Chowgachha upazila unit of Muktijoddha Sangshad.
Police said, being informed that the body of Khalilur was lying at the Churamonkathi level crossing in Sadar upazila, GRP police recovered it on Friday morning. GRP police sent the body to Jessore General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
It could not be ascertained immediately whether it was a case of killing or unnatural death, police said.
Locals suspect that criminals killed Khalilur elsewhere and dumped the body near the crossing level.
In another incident, Abdul Gaffar drowned in a water body while catching fish on Thursday afternoon.
A pal of gloom descended on the area following the tragic deaths of the two siblings.
