10 BCL men injured in factional clash

At least 10 people were injured in a clash between two factions of Awami League backed Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Zindabazar in Sylhet yesterday afternoon. Of the injured, Masud Ahmed and Shubhomoy Roy were hacked and later admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. A group of followers of Bidhan, former organising secretary of BCL district unit, and another group that follows Nadel, former president of BCL district unit, locked into a clash with sticks, rods and machete over occupying the front row of a procession, said Sylhet Metropolitan Police sources. Activists of BCL Sylhet city unit brought out the procession to celebrate the adaptation of prime minister's proposal for People's Empowerment in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
