Muggers hack man in capital
Muggers yesterday hacked and injured a man and snatched his cellphone as well as Tk 500 in the capital's Khilgaon.
Critically injured, Farhad Ali, 30, of Gaibandha, works as a tailor at Sania Tailors in Rampura Banasree. With four injuries in his neck, head and abdomen, he is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Farhad came from his village around 5:00pm and started walking from Khilgaon to his workplace. When he reached Bhuiyan Para around 5:30am, some eight muggers waylaid him and tried to mug him. As Farhad struggled to prevent the muggers, they hacked him and took away his belongings.
Later, locals rescued him and first took him to Khidmah Hospital at Taltola in Khilgaon from where Sub-Inspector Faruk Hossain of Khilgaon Police Station shifted him to the DMCH.
