JP will not take responsibility of govt's failure

Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad yesterday said his party will not take any responsibility of the failure of the incumbent Awami League-led grand alliance government.
“Jatiya Party had no role in the grand alliance since the inception till as of today of the government. We are saddened at the incompetence and failure of the government in running the country. We also don't want to share any success of the government,†he said at a rally in the capital's Bijoynagar.
Marking its 27th anniversary, Jatiya Party, a key component of the AL-led 14-party grand alliance government, organised the rally followed by a colourful procession in the city led by the party chief.
Addressing the rally, Ershad reiterated his party's stance to contest independently in the next parliamentary polls scheduled to be held early next year.
