Bangladesh needs $20b remittance a yr till 2021
If remittance inflow can reach US$ 20 billion yearly, Bangladesh will emerge as a middle-income country within 2021, said Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain yesterday.
The country has received US$ 44 billion in remittance in the last four years, he told a views exchange meeting with All European Awami League delegations in the ministry's conference room.
He said Malaysia would recruit five lakh Bangladeshi workers in the next five years.
