Govt to promote science edn: Nahid
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said the government has stepped up all efforts to promote science education for economic prosperity of the country.
"Science education is playing a unique role in this modern world that's why Bangladesh students should learn time befitting science education to deal with the challenges of the 21st century for overall development of the country," he said.
The minister said this while addressing as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of a three-day "International Physics Conference" at Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (Sust) yesterday.
Sust Vice Chancellor Prof Mohammad Salah Uddin was in the chair.
Some 300 scientists, researchers and science teachers from the USA, India, Nepal, Japan and Bangladesh are taking part in the conference.
"Science education is focal point of overall development of all sectors," the minister said adding, "Science education is necessary in promoting information and other technologies for the betterment of the people through application of new various science techniques."
