Five killed in road accidents
Five people including a cop were killed and three others injured in road accidents in Gazipur, Noakhali, Lalmonirhat and Rangpur on Thursday and yesterday.
UNB reports from Gazipur, a policeman was killed in a road accident in Ulukhola area of Kaliganj upazila early yesterday.
The deceased was Kabir Hossain, 26, a constable at Range Reserve Force (RRF) of Dhaka Range.
Police said a truck ran Kabir over when he asked it to stop at Ulukhola check post on Dhaka Bypass road around 12:00am.
He was first rushed to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex; and later shifted to National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation [Pangu Hospital] where doctors declared him dead.
Our Noakhali correspondent reports, two people were killed and three others injured in a road accident at Uttar Wapda Bazar under Noakhali sadar upazila yesterday.
One of the decease was Jamal Uddin, 35; and the injured were Ahsan Ullah, 55, Jannatul Ferdous, 30, and her child Mishu, 6.
Locals said the accident took place as a bus first hit a motorcycle, and then a roadside tree killing the duo on the spot.
Our Lalmonirhat correspondent reports, Mozahar Ali, 56, was killed as a truck hit his motorcycle on Lalmonirhat- Burimari highway in Zawrani area of Kaliganj upazila in Lalmonirhat yesterday.
Our Rangpur correspondent reports, Biplobi Begum, 3, was killed on the spot as tractor hit her in Gangachara upazila of Rangpur on Thursday.
