Obituary
Shamsul Haque, a journalist and social worker, passed away at Gafargaon upazila health complex in Mymensingh on Thursday night. He was 80. Shamsul Haque, a confirmed bachelor, started career in a local newspaper in 1956. He was made Gafargaon correspondent of the daily Ittefaq in 1958. Shamsul Haque established a night school and Padma Papri, an organisation for children, in the 1980s. He was buried on the premises of Shaheed Belal Pathagar, a library founded by the journalist, after his namaz-e-janaza on Gafargaon Government College ground after Juma prayers yesterday.
