Pakistani agents try to make country as failed nation

Awami League Advisory Council Member Dr SA Malek yesterday said a vested quarter of Pakistani agents are hatching conspiracies to make Bangladesh a failed nation by putting the country's independence and sovereignty at stake. "In the name of establishment of democracy in the country, the anti-liberation, communal forces and militants are plotting to turn the nation into a failed state by putting the country's independence and sovereignty at stake after independence," he said while addressing a memorial discussion at Kalabagan in the capital. Bangabandhu Parishad arranged the discussion on the occasion of the 5th death anniversary of Justice KM Sobhan who was also president of the organisation. Dr Malek, also general secretary of the parishad, said the anti-liberation forces have been hatching deep-rooted conspiracies to foil the war crimes trial to save war criminals. He urged all pro-liberation forces to remain alert and resist all sorts of evil designs and conspiracies. Dhaka University Teachers' Association Prof Dr Akhteruzzaman, Mohammadpur Thana Bangabandhu Parisad unit president Prof Sazedul Islam Saju, former general secretary Rajshahi University Teachers' Association Prof Dr Sadequl Arefin, Associate Prof of Islami University, Dr Sheikh Rezaul Karim, and organising secretary of city unit of Bangabandhu Parishad Advocate M Didar Ali, among others, spoke on the occasion.
