Trader injured by stalkers dies
A local trader, who was injured in an attack by a few stalkers on January 4, died on way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Kazi Alamgir Hossain, 46, owner of Madhumati Motor Parts at Barandipara in the district town.
Police said the gang attacked Alamgir with sharp weapons near Tasbirmahal Cinema hall in the town on Friday midnight, leaving him seriously injured.
The injured was rushed to Jessore Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) in critical condition. Later, he was sent to DMCH as his health condition deteriorated and died on the way.
Locals said the criminals used to tease Alamgir's daughter. Hence, Alamgir solemnised her marriage with a youth outside the area, which angered the teasers.
