Nine killed in road accidents
Nine people were killed and 28 others injured in road accidents across the country on Monday and yesterday.
Our Netrakona correspondent reports, two people were killed and 25 others injured when their bus plunged into a roadside ditch after the driver lost control over the steering on Netrakona-Kalmakanda road at Kandulia in Sadar upazila on Monday night.
The dead are Mulfat Ali, 60, of Netrakona town, and Saidur Rahaman, 30, of Sherpur town.
Our Chittagong correspondent reports, Md Sohel, 15, son of Konu Meah of Comilla, was killed when a truck ran him over on Boxirhat intersection in Kotwali of Chittagong yesterday.
Meanwhile, in Chittagong city, Minara Khatun, 35, of Mohammadpur area, was killed when a motorbike hit her while crossing a road in the area on Monday.
Our Rangpur correspondent adds, a rickshaw-puller was killed when he fell down after hitting another rickshaw and meanwhile an oncoming minibus ran him over in Shapla Chattar area of Rangpur city on Monday afternoon.
The dead, Pishu, 30, resided in Modern intersection area.
In Kaunia upazila of Rangpur, Rahat Akhtar, 5, daughter of Mamunur Rashid Chan Mian of the upazila, was killed and three of her family were injured on Rangpur-Kurigram highway on Monday evening.
The motorbike carrying the four hit a roadside tree while giving side to a van.
Our Bogra correspondent reports, Shahnaj Sheuli, 30, of Sherpur upazila, was killed when a bus hit the microbus she was travelling on at Gokul village of Sadar upazila yesterday.
Our Chapainawabganj correspondent reports, Roni Islam Joni, 8, son of Akherul Islam of Chapainawabganj, was killed as a three-wheeler hit him while crossing Chhatrajidpur intersection in Shibganj of Chapainawabganj yesterday morning.
Our Rajshahi correspondent reports, Shabnam Mustari, 45, wife of Abbas Ali, died when a motorbike carrying her suddenly bumped over a speed breaker and she fell on the road in front of Ruet in Rajshahi city on Monday morning.
