Boy drowns while chasing poultry bird
An employee of a poultry shop drowned in a cannel in the capital's Nandipara area yesterday.
The victim, Saddam Hossain, 15, of Islampur of Jamalpur, joined the shop only three days ago, said his uncle Amir Ali.
Fire service officials said Saddam chased a poultry bird after escaped its cage. At one stage, he fell into the canal after failing to catch the poultry bird around 5:15pm.
On information, firefighters rescued the body around 8:50pm.
