Social recognition of liberation war women victims urged
Speakers at a seminar yesterday emphasised social recognition of the women who were victims of sexual harassment by Pakistani occupation forces during the Liberation War in 1971.
The government should establish rehabilitation centres for the women, they said.
They told the seminar titled “Ekatturer barbarota: Manobotar dabi†organised by the Law Department of Rajshahi University at Rabindra Kala Bhaban.
With RU Law Faculty Dean Biswajit Chanda in the chair, Australia's Macquare University teacher Dr Rafiqul Islam and International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Prosecutor Taposh Kanti Baul, among others, spoke on the occasion.
