Reduce cost of migration

Foreign Minister Dipu Moni at a seminar yesterday stressed the need for reducing the cost of migration and removing existing malpractices in the sector.
She was speaking at the seminar on “'Manpower Export of Bangladesh: Trends, Prospects, and Considerations†held in the auditorium of Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) in the capital.
She said most of the workers who go abroad are not skilled, and so, they get sub-standard jobs and earn less.
In his opening remarks, Muhammad Imrul Quayes, director general of BIISS, said Bangladesh is yet to tap its full potential and diversify manpower export destinations. "We have to identify the areas where we can compete," he added.
