5 get life term for Milton murder
A Dhaka court yesterday sentenced five people to life term rigorous imprisonment for killing Abdul Baqui Milton, a cable operator, in November 2011 in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
The convicts are Abul Kashem, Saiful Haque Mamun, Badrul Alam Sajal, Gias Uddin Montu and Zobair Ahmed Roni.
Judge Mohammad Motahar Hossain of the Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 handed down the verdict.
According to the prosecution, a gang of assailants, led by Abul Kashem, killed the victim over a land dispute sometime between 10:00pm on November 8 and 9:00am on November 9 of 2011.
Later, the victim's wife Laboni Jesmine filed a murder case against the five.
