Arrest Tazreen owner: CPB
Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) demanded immediate arrest of the owner of Tazreen Fashions garment factory where 112 workers were killed in a fire in November last year.
CPB President Mujahidul Islam Selim and its General Secretary Sayed Abu Jafar Ahmed in a statement said the government and an influential quarter are giving shelter to the factory owner for avoiding arrest.
Although the chairman and managing director of Smart Fashions Limited have been arrested for the factory fire that killed seven workers, owner of Tazreen remains scot-free as he is a member of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), it said.
