Journalists formed a human chain and held a rally in front of the deputy commissioner's office in the town yesterday demanding immediate arrest of the attackers of one of their fellows. They also submitted a memorandum to the DC in favour of their demand. The speakers at the rally said a clash took place between two rival groups over previous enmity at Sheikhtola village in Sadar upazila, leaving at least 15 people from both sides injured on Thursday. At this, Ashraful Alam, district correspondent of Channel I, sustained stab injures by a group of men when he was covering the news of clash. Ashraful filed a case with Sadar Police Station against four people in connection with the attack, they said. Among others, Golam Mostofa, president of Chapainawabganj press club and its general secretary Kamal Uddin, spoke at the programme.
