World No Tobacco Day Today

Three minor girls making Bidi at Baradi village in Kushtia Sadar upazila as a large number of children are engaged in the harmful work in around 17 factories in the district having around 14,000 hectares under tobacco cultivation. There has been a declining trend in its cultivation due to increased awareness among farmers and pressing need for food grains but children still remain the source of cheap labour in the factories.
