Zia's Death Anniversary
Satkhira BNP factions hold separate meets
The two rival factions of Satkhira BNP yesterday held separate meetings in the town in observance of the 27th death anniversary of party's founder late president Ziaur Rahman.
One faction led by district BNP convening committee member Dr Shahidul Alam and its district secretary advocate Iftekhar Ali held a discussion meeting at Pourasava auditorium. Abdus Samad was in the chair.
The other faction led by district BNP convening committee's senior member MA Jalil held another meeting at Radhanagar in the town with M A Jalil in the chair.
Satkhira district BNP convenor and former lawmaker Habibul Islam Habib is on the run to evade arrest. Its member secretary Samsuzzoha Bablu left for USA soon after promulgation of emergency.
