Criminal snatched from police in Barisal
An arrested criminal was snatched from policemen when they were taking him to the model police station here yesterday.
The criminal, Tapan Halder of Kaunia area here was snatched away from police at about 7.30 pm.
In the incident, sub-inspector (SI) Nurul Alam of Kotwali police station was seriously injured. He lodged a case against 12 people including Tapan Halder on charge of obstructing policemen in discharging their official duties.
On contact, Hayatul Islam, assistant commissioner (AC) of Kotwali police said that the entire area was condoned off by police.
Later, police arrested Uttam Biswas, one of the accomplices of Tapan Halder. Hunt for Tapan was going on till 3.30 pm yesterday, the AC of Kotwali police said.
