Court records deposition of nine PWs
Trial of the case for possessing 44 Arges grenades resumed yesterday as Satkhira District and Sessions Judge's Court recorded the statements of nine prosecution witnesses including the complainant.
The judge fixed today for next hearing of the case.
After over three months of the recovery of 44 grenades from the possession of two Harkat-ul-Jihad al Islam (Huji) operatives.

The witnesses are the complainant Sub-inspector KM Tariqul Islam, Rab Deputy Assistant Director Nasir Uddin, Sergeant Abdul Aziz, SI Adam Ali, ASI Anowar Hossain, Nayek Zahidul Islam, Nayek Delawar Hossain and constables Hasib and Mostafa -- all belonging to Rab-6 of Khulna.
Two charge-sheeted accused -- Huji operatives Moin Uddin alias Abu Zandal, a close aide to Huji chief Mufti Hannan who directed August 21 grenade blasts at an Awami League rally in Dhaka and Nazrul Islam Gharami of village Shimulia in Debhata upazila -- were produced before the court.
Earlier on May 29, the court framed charges against the two Huji operatives for possessing 44 grenades.
Upon information from Huji operative Zandal who was arrested from Gazipur on February 14, Rab men arrested Nazrul Islam Gharami from Nalta Bazar in Kaliganj upazila and following his confession the law enforcers recovered 44 grenades from the pond at village Shimulia in Debhata upazila, court sources said.
The grenades seized from Shimulia village were identical to the grenades exploded at an Awami League rally in Dhaka on August 21 in 2004, Rab said.
