Khulna 4-party demands release of Khaleda, Nizami
Khulna district and city units of four-party alliance has demanded unconditional release of former prime minister and BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and Jamaat Ameer Matiur Rahman Nizami.
The demand was made at a meeting of four-party alliance held at the BNP office here yesterday afternoon.
The co-convenor of city unit of the alliance and the city ameer of Jamaat, Mian Golam Parwar presided the meeting.
Speakers called upon the government to hold the national election by October this year after making the ongoing dialogue with all political parties successful.
They also demanded immediate lifting of the state of emergency and lifting of all restrictions on open politics.
The meeting unanimously resolved to observe June 17 as the day for demanding release of Begum Khaleda Zia and Matiur Rahman Nizami.
Among others, president of city BNP M Nurul Islam, general secretary of district BNP Advocate Shafiqul Alam Mona, city BNP vice president and acting mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Moniruzzaman Moni, city unit secretary of Jamaat Moulana Abul Kalam Azad and city unit president of Islamic Oikkyo Jote (IOJ) Moulana Golam Kibria addressed.
