4 sent to jail
Four people including a former ward commissioner of Sylhet City Corporation (SCC), who were caught on Monday for running Yaba trading in Sylhet, were sent to the jail from a court yesterday.
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Monday night handed them over to Sylhet Kotwali police who produced the arrestees to the Judicial Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Mahmuda Rahman of Tungibari in Munshiganj, held by Rab from Alpine Restaurant at the city's Chouhatta, admitted to her complicity with the Yaba trade network, including Oliur Rahman Sohel, former ward commissioner of the SCC, Malek Ahmed Suja and Nizam Uddin.
