4 JCD activists hurt in clash with BCL men at Ruet
At least four activists of the Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (Ruet) unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) were injured in a clash between Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and JCD at Shaheed Salim Hall last night.
BCL forced JCD activists out of the dormitory after the fight.
The injured were identified as Sohag, a third year student of Computer Science and Engineering Department, Sujon, a third year student of Mechanical Engineering Department, Choton and Bappi, both fourth year students of Electrical Engineering Department.
All the injured took first aid at a local private clinic, sources said.
The clash erupted at the hall TV room at around 11:45pm when BCL activist Sajib engaged in altercation with JCD activist Sohag.
Later, activists of both the organisations chased and counter-chased each other.
BCL activists led by Asif and Biplob beat up JCD activists Sohag, Sujon, Choton and Bappi.
Later, BCL activists beat up a number of JCD activists and drove them out of the hall.
Police were deployed in front of the hall to avert further clash on the campus.
