Arms, phensidyl, bullet seized: 4 held in 5 dists
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in raids conducted in Natore, Rajshahi, Joypurhat, Dinajpur and Chapainawabganj districts yesterday arrested four persons including a listed criminal, Rab said.
They also seized firearms, bullet, Indian Phensidyl and carbide chemical, they said.
Acting on a tip-off, Rab raided the house of Nojer Ali at Alipur village in Natore and recovered a country- made gun and a bullet.
The same team arrested a listed criminal named Sohel, 26, from Motiher area in the city.
Rab said the arrested, identifying himself a 'source' of Rab, used to collect illegal toll from people.
In another drive conducted at Harinagar village in Chapai-nawabganj district, Rab seized 50 kilogram of carbide chemical and arrested Abul Kashem, 40, at Parkali village.
Rab said Kashem was engaged in mixing carbide chemical to ripen mango.
Rab also seized 250 bottles of Indian Phensidyl in Joypurhat, Dinajpur and Chapainawabganj districts and arrested two drug traders.
The arrestees are Rashidul Islam and Ataur Rahman.
The arrested four and seized items were hand over to the respective police stations, Rab said.
