BNP leader Bachchu on 3-day remand
Police yesterday took Natore district BNP General Secretary Sahidul Islam Bachchu on a three-day remand in connection with an extortion case.
Following the case filed by Power Development Board Resident Engineer Sahidul Islam on Monday, police arrested Bachchu who fell ill that day. Police took him to Natore hospital where a five-member medical team examined him and gave a release order from the hospital yesterday.
After police produced Bachchu to the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court with a prayer for 10 days remand, Magistrate Sharif Ahmed granted three-day remand.
