Police to be more active, people friendly
Additional IGP says in Khagrachhari
Additional Inspector General of Police Naba Bikrom Kishor Tripura yesterday said a three-year reform strategy has been designed to make police more active, honest and people friendly.
Police is now serving people without any pressure from political or other influences, the Additional IGP said in his speech as the chief guest at the inaugural function of newly made Dighinala Police Station complex under Dighinala upazila in hill district Khagrachhari.
The newly set up In-Service Training Center at Pankhaiyapara under Khagrachhari Sadar upazila can provide training to at least 50 police personnel at a time and there is plan to extend it, he said, adding that the government has will construct six more Model Police Stations in the country.
As the police force with only 1 lakh 30 thousand members sometimes failed to provide expected service to our large population, community policing has been revived to maintain peaceful environment in the communities, he said.
Better relation between police and public is needed to ensure better service for people from all walks of life, he said at the function where police and army officials spoke.
