Plaintiff punished for giving false statement
Satkhira Women and Children Repression Preventive Court yesterday sentenced a plaintiff of a case to suffer 15 days' simple imprisonment for giving false statement before court to save the culprits.
The convict, Nur Islam of Kukhrali in the town, filed a case with Sadar Police Station against three people for abducting his niece, court sources said.
Earlier, the court fixed yesterday the date for recording statement of prosecution witnesses (PWs). While giving statement before court, the plaintiff gave false statement concealing facts.
