5 Jubok staff sued for cheating client

A case was filed with additional chief judicial magistrate's court here yesterday against five staff of Jubok, an NGO, for cheating a client, court sources said. The accused are Shyamnagar upazila coordinator of Jubok Chandana Rani and other staff named Masudur Rahman, Biswa Ranjan, Majeda Begum, Kamrunnahar Luci and Talukdar Ali Aslam. Masuk Hossain of Biralaxmi village in Shyamnagar upazila filed the case. In his allegation, he said the accused took Tk 6, 72,000 from him on different occasions since 2002. They took money in name of depositing it under an scheme of Shapla multipurpose cooperative society of the NGO and allotment of a plot at Khulna Model town. But they cheated him, he alleged. He further alleged that the accused did not return the money after expiry of term. After hearing, judge Md Zakaria of additional chief judicial magistrate court issued summons against the accused asking them to appear before court within 15 days of its receipt, court sources said. This correspondent tried to contact the accused for their comments on several occasions, but failed to reach them.
